What is the Jones Act?

The Jones Act has no direct bearing on cruise ship passengers - not to be confused with the Passenger Vessel Service Act (PVSA).

The Jones Act, passed in 1920, sponsored by Sen. (R) Wesley Jones (1863 – 1932) of Washington state, regulated the shipping industry and is not relevant to the cruise industry.
